Intertwined with all the cultural elements of Scotland County is a unique commitment to America’s military community.
Part of this is due to our proximity to both Fort Bragg, home of the 82nd Airborne and Special Forces. In fact, Special Forces still train and have maneuvers in the Camp Mackall grounds in the northern part of the county, and hikers have been known to literally step on these hidden warriors while trekking through the woods. We are also honored that the U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Team calls the Laurinburg-Maxton Airport their home training grounds (and air)
With these influences, it’s not hard to see why all the ethnic cultures making up the county continue to be a significant part of the U.S. Armed Forces.
The U.S. Army Golden Knights Parachute Tram practices daily at the Laurinburg-Maxton Airport. Practice usually runs from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm. Click on the photo to contact them for more information,
