Waiver for Boy Scouts participating in Raft Race

Announcing the 2017 Chalk Banks Challenge and River Festival

The fun will be held on Saturday, May 14th from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Chalk Banks Access Area - Lumber River State Park in Wagram, NC. Contestants may compete in raft, recreational canoe or kayak sprint races - a 5K trail run, and a 1-mile Scotland County Elementary School Cross Country Championship.

The highlight of the day will be the homemade raft race. A Scotland County tradition, raft races will be divided into two classes: single person and group (two or more people). All rafts must be homemade and may not be motorized in any way. Trophies will be awarded to the winners.

8:00 - 10:30 - Event Registration (running, raft, canoe, etc.)  
9:30 - 5K Trail Run (entry fee required) 
10:00 - Festival Opening Ceremonies
10:15 - Recreational Tandem Canoe - 2 Mile Race 
10:30 - Youth Cross Country Championship (U12 & U18 - no entry free) 
11:15 - Recrea;onal Solo Kayak Race - 2 Mile Race 
11:45 - Raft Races 
12:00 - Men's High Heel Sprint 
12:30 - Kid's Olympics Begin - Kid's wet t-shirt relay, hollering contest, and more. 
2:00 - Awards

Music, food vendors, canoe rides, kids games, demonstrators and nature displays throughout the day.
